Color Combination: Grey and Pink Interior Design

Grey is a neutral color that comes from the combination of black and white. It is timeless, calm, quiet and conservative.

In psychology, grey indicates gloomy, depressed or sad mood. It also symbolizes old age. If there is too much grey, it is lackluster, tedious, passive, lifeless and even draining. But for its good side, it also depicts security, modesty, dignity, reliability, maturity and intelligence. A person who loves grey deems to be formal, composed, staid, hard-working and unbiased.

In interior design, grey is mostly use as a background color. So we can usually see it in walls. If use properly, a space can be solid and practical, elegant and sophisticated. Otherwise, a space can look too cold and boring.

Pink, on the other hand, imparts feelings of warmth, tenderness, relaxation, caring, nurturing, self-worth, love and acceptance. It suggests sweetness, innocence, youthfulness and softness. Beauty lovers prefer pink. They are usually gentle and approachable. Light pink is subtle, peaceful and delicate. Deep pink alleviates feelings of tension. Bold and vibrant pink stirs up emotions and stimulates the senses.

How about combining the two colors? Use a punch of pink with grey background. Spell b.a.l.a.n.c.e. and s.o.p.h.i.s.t.i.c.a.t.i.o.n.

Here are some of the design inspirations on how to combine the two lovely colors:

Since we have light warm grey three-seater sofa and two light cold grey arm chairs, I can actually use pink. I am going  to use pink to one or two accent throw pillows and then to the flowers in the vase(s).

What do you think? Would you try to use these combination?
